#30DaysWild – Day 18 – Walking in the Rain!

When I looked out of the window this morning I was disappointed to see the clouds and rain. Even though it wasn’t the hot sunny day I had hoped for, I resolved that I would still go out for a walk.

I stayed local, walking along the canal near to me. It was a very peaceful, I watched the ripples on the surface of the water while listening to raindrops on the leaves above me. The ducks also seemed to be enjoying the weather!

I was pleasantly surprised to a fair amount of insects. Most perched on the reeds that lined the water way.

It was a worth while walk, even if I returned home more than a little damp!

#30DaysWild – Day 9 – Reading while listening to the rain

I have spent quite a bit of time out in the rain, so it was nice to relax in the warmth of home. I curled up to the catch up with the last 2 months of BBC Wildlife magazine while listening to the unseasonal weather against the window.

#30DaysWild day 6 – a wild moment at work!

Today’s mission was to carry out some wildlife surveys for work in the beautiful nature reserve we have on site.

A blustery wet day didn’t dampen my spirits as the lush greens and bright colours of the wild flowers glistened in the rain. The birds were out too – bullfinches, whitethroats and reed buntings sang merrily away.

There’s no place I’d rather be.

Day 10 #30DaysWild

Most of the time, to appreciate wildlife you need to go out, look for, watch and then enjoy the beautiful creatures around you. Some days it just drops out of the sky in front of you, just waiting to be admired!

I was more than a little fortunate today, as I got not one but two bugs drop out of the sky in front of me! I think they’re absolutely gorgeous!

The weather has just changed , a fresh down pour of rain has begun. I’m currently sat listening storm pass over!

Worcester in Flood 2016

I was back in Worcester for the day on Tuesday. I had a few moments to myself, and so seized the opportunity to witness the flood waters and the swans of the River Severn.
