Hummingbird Hawk-moth

It was a cold, damp and grey September day when I decided to visit Hidcote Gardens near Chipping Camden. It’s a beautiful place; lush greens intermingled with colourful flowers and the occasional artistic sculpture.

But, for me, the best part of the day was none of the above; it was the velvet buzz of a large moth flitting past my ear and the long, lingering gaze at the Hummingbird Hawk Moth that followed.

I even managed to grab a couple of photographs as it frantically foraged for sweet nectar.
